About

We are very pleased to invite you to the Spring SIOPEL 2017 meeting which will be held in Paris, from April 6 to the 8th. The meeting is organized by the comity of Pediatric Liver Tumors of the French Society of Childhood Cancer (SFCE) and the “Institute Curie”.
As you probably know the SIOPEL is an active international group of pediatric surgeons, oncologists, pathologists and radiologists who pursue a collaborative effort to improve the diagnosis, treatment and long-term outcome of childhood liver cancer (hepatoblastoma HB and hepatocellular carcinoma HCC). The past years have been marked by the development of the first Pediatric Hepatic International Tumor trial and The European CHILTERN project. We hope that 2017 will be the year that we will see the realization of this protocol. We would like to thank sincerely all speakers, our chairmen, young investigators and all of our sponsors for making this get-together a nice big melting pot of knowledge, ideas and projects.
We hope that this international and multidisciplinary meeting will offer you a new opportunity to share your knowledge, your doubts, your experience and your reflections in clinical management and translational research on pediatric liver malignancies. For those historians amongst you, you might be interested in the history of the Institute Curie which was founded in 1909 on a model devised by Marie Curie. The institute remains today at the cutting edge: « from fundamental research to innovative treatments », the Institute Curie is a cancer foundation. It specializes in research in oncology and patient care. You can enjoy a visit to the museum situated in the Marie’s former laboratory which redraws the various stages of the discoveries of the Curie family, winners of 5 Nobel prizes.

Warmest regards.
